Who uses Information Plus resources?

Are Information Plus products eligible for elearning credits?

Yes, Information Plus is registered with DFES Curriculum Online as a provider and retailer and all of our current range of titles, (except My Life Story, My Life Plan, SpeakEasy and LifeBall Special) are eligible for purchase with curriculum online funds.

Will Information Plus products work over a network?

As far as we have found - yes. Not everything has been tested in every network environment but such as we have tested seem to work ok. Specifically we have tested Win95, Win98, Win2000 and XP environments. However given the group nature of many of our titles, most users report that an LCD projector with a group or individual one to one work is more productive. If you plan to use a network you will have to purchase a multi-user licence.

What is the best way to use Social Learning Software

Social Learning Software products are not recommended for unsupported use. Everything we do needs the active involvment of an adult facilitator, moderator or counsellor in some way. In some cases this may be a teacher leading class discussion (e.g. BUSTED, LIFEBALL, Billy and the Big D-cision) or a social worker working with an individual child (e.g. Bruce's Multimedia Story, My Life Story). User guides for individual products describe how they can best be used, but in most cases the aim is either to stimulate group discussion or to work therapautically with one individual.

What operating systems will Social Learning Software titles work on?

Information Plus products are designed for both Mac and PC environments however more recent titles will only work with Windows XP and later. Check with us if you are in any doubt.

Will using Social Learning Software products interfere with my computer set up. Do I need to install anything?

No. Social Learning Software titles work exclusively from the CD. Nothing is installed on the computer you are using and nothing is left behind when you take the CD out. In some cases ancillary materials are supplied in Adobe Acrobat PDF format and to use these you will have to install the Acrobat Reader if you do not have it already. Clearly this does involve putting something extra on your machine however the Acrobat Reader is very widely used and should not cause any unforeseen problems. We include an installer for version 4 of the reader on the CDs. Go to the Acrobat web site if you want the latest version.

Do you give any discount for bulk purchases?

Yes. Buy 5 and pay for 4, buy 10 and pay for 7, buy 15 and pay for 10 etc. This applies to all titles but not combinations of titles. If you are ordering 5 or more of any item, contact us to discuss your order.

Do you accept Local Authority order forms?

Yes (see Ordering). We accept official purchase orders from local authorities, voluntary organisations and private companies by fax or post. Private individuals should accompany their order with a cheque or postal order.

Can I pay by credit card?

What is the returns policy?

If for any reason you find any product unsuitable, return it within 30 days and we will void or vary your invoice or return your payment.

Do you have any non UK distributorships?

Yes. We have recently secured distribution arrangements for the Republic of Ireland and New Zealand (see links). We are always interested to hear from any agency interested in distributing our titles in other territories.

Can I make duplicates of the CD?

Only for purposes of backing up. Any other copying is a breach of copyright.

What about copies of the printed materials?

PDF materials may be printed out in as many copies as you like however they must not be included in any other publication or package, or reprinted or modified in any way without prior consent in writing from Information Plus.
